Things to Do in Groveland CA
With our close proximity to Yosemite National Park, there are boundless things to do in Groveland, CA. Half Dome, El Capitan, Hetch Hetchy and Tuolumne Meadows, the Stanislaus National Forest, the Tuolumne, Clavey and Merced Rivers are all in our backyard, High Sierra recreational activities such as white-water rafting, rock climbing, fly-fishing, hiking, mountain biking, cross country skiing, jet-skiing, snowshoeing, water skiing, cave touring, canoeing, kayaking, bird watching...well, you get the picture.
The Groveland Hotel's very own Yosemite Courtyard Cabaret provides live musical entertainment all summer long. A variety of top tribute artists perform with acts as diverse as Elvis, The Eagles, The Beatles, CCR, Johnny Cash, and The Andrews Sisters.
Our Winter Magic entertainment series features world-class comedy magicians from Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Reno, Tahoe, the Bay Area, and points beyond, including television! Each show is inside our Cellar Door dining room and is modeled after the exclusive Magic Castle dinner club in Hollywood. Watch as these professional sleight-of-hand artists perform right at your table, then dazzle with a stage show after the conclusion of dinner service.
If you want more music options, our next door neighbor is the Iron Door Saloon, the oldest continuously-operating saloon in California, which regularly features live bands as well as karaoke nights.
Many cultural opportunities are also available to us in the Gold Country. We are close to Columbia State Historic Park, Jamestown and other historic gold-rush towns. Nearby Sonora boasts year-round repertory theatre groups and plenty of antique shopping. Groveland is a short, scenic drive to many wineries - our area is emerging as a key wine-producing region. Ironstone Vineyards, Twisted Oak and Zucca Mountain Vineyards are only three of nearly a dozen family-owned and operated wineries in Murphys.
There is no need to claim boredom around these parts!
