Don't let our Southern drawls fool you - we've lived in the Sierra Nevada for more than 20 years, and, oh, the stories we've accumulated! Restoring the Groveland Hotel to its Old West grandeur allowed us many interesting history lessons of the region. We've also discovered many very special places nearby worth deeper exploration. Our Southern Roots run deep, we were both born and raised in Tennessee, and we still firmly believe in old-fashioned Southern Hospitality.
Grover is an avid golfer (but I can't reveal his handicap), and he spends many days with friends at our local championship golf course at Pine Mountain Lake. When he's not on the greens, he's greeting our guests and helping them find their way around our property and our quirky Old West town. He's our chief cook, bottle washer, dog walker, florist, as well as my dearest friend.
I wish I still had time to fly my Beech Sierra N2052L, but honestly, I'm more than content to share a bottle of wine and my knowledge of the Groveland area with guests and members of our community. I happen to be a bit of a wine connoisseur and would love to help you explore our wine list, which was given the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence and includes more than 550 labels.
And yes, I did go to school with Elvis! Feel free to ask me about him, our resident ghost, Lyle, Motherlode gold rush history, our local swimming holes and waterfalls, or about my time as the sole female manager at Lockheed back in the 1970s.
Integral to our Groveland Hotel family are Rusty and Miss Kitty, our four-legged co-innkeepers.
We look forward to seeing you soon,
